In 1994, Richard J. Gillette noticed that something was missing in the ophthalmic surgical equipment industry. During numerous conversations with surgeons from across the globe, Mr. Gillette concluded that there was a need for affordable, high-quality equipment.

The first goal was to design a full function vitrectomy system that had high performance features, and offer it at an affordable price. Syntec met that goal... and then some. Our Research and Development department focuses on designing new technologically advanced products to add to the product line. Supported by renowned surgeons, Syntec continuously evolves to meet the needs of today's ophthalmologist.

Syntec is committed to making its technology accessible to ophthalmologists and has been an active participant in industry shows. Syntec products have been on display at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), the International Congress of Ophthalmology (ICO), the Global Chinese Ophthalmic Congress (GCOC), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Pan Arab Council of Ophthalmology (PACCO), and the Meeting of the Singapore National Eye Clinic (SNEC), just to name a few.

Customer Support for Ophthalmologists and Hospitals
Syntec, Inc. is dedicated to our customers. We fully support our distributors with training and technical advice to ensure our customers receive the best service possible. Syntec distributors service all equipment and are required to perform routine maintenance checks. In addition, our distributors must maintain a reasonable amount of disposables. Syntec, Inc. is dedicated to providing quality products. The Syntec Quality Team is working towards ISO 9001 Certification, and its technical equivalent, ANSI/ASQC Q91. It will cover the design, production, installation, and servicing of the company's products.

Production of the Syntec VitMan Vitrectomy System and Other Ophthalmic Equipment
Syntec, Inc. currently has two manufacturing facilities to meet customer demand. Final production of the Syntec VitMan vitrectomy system takes place at the company headquarters in Winfield, Missouri (near St. Louis). Syntec disposables are manufactured at our Crystal City, Missouri location.

Syntec, Inc. offers high-quality ophthalmic products at affordable prices. Products pass through the company's Quality Program to assure that customers receive top-of-the line equipment. Syntec products undergo extensive quality checks throughout the production process to assure that the best products reach the customer. Products also go through system checks prior to shipping. Through this program we can provide consistent quality in all Syntec products.
